Why is artificial solar lighting being used to evaluate the performance of infrared sensors?

There are many infrared sensors used around us. Infrared sensors are used in everyday objects such as automatic doors, motion sensors that turn on lights when people approach them, automatic faucets that turn on when you place your hands close to them, and remote controls for TVs and air conditioners. Recently, infrared sensors are also used in advanced electrical appliances such as cleaning robots and IH cooking heaters.

In particular, modern home appliances equipped with infrared sensors are at risk of false operation/non-operation due to natural sunlight coming in through windows. When the sunlight hits the sensor’s light-receiving part, other infrared signals cannot be received because the sunlight is overwhelmingly stronger.

The super spotlight lighting type looks the same as the standard shape in the photo. By replacing the internal reflecting mirror with a total reflecting elliptical mirror and adjusting it, it is possible for the product to irradiate with the same brightness as direct sunlight (100000Lx) or the same irradiation intensity (1kW/m²).
